After a year of hibernating and honing his craft, Ayanfe Oluwashola is back to show that sometimes, life and love can either be sweet or sour.
Popularly known as Ayanfe, the artiste believes that his new work will shake the industry.
Ayanfe, who discovered his talent early, took up a career in music while still in the university. He formed a band about the same time and decided to forego his academics and chase his dream, full-time. Within a short period, he dropped his first single, in 2018, under his former label.
After releasing a series of singles, covers, freestyles and honing his skills, luck shined on him in 2019, when did a cover to Davido’s Risky. He later joined the DMW family under the management of Obama DMW and signed a record deal with the label in 2020.
His career growth has since blossomed, and his first single under the DMW label in 2020, Pretend, topped charts for weeks.
With the successes recorded with Pretend, Ayanfe continued to release songs with various artistes including, Mayorkun, Idowest and Davido before dropping his first EP entitled, All That Matters, in 2021.
One year after the release of his first EP, a lot happened to change his life. In fact, the lessons learnt were eye-opening, and the understanding that life could show itself from different perspectives. Ayanfe realised that what could be sweet now, might turn sour the next second.
Turning his pain into art, and under new management, Apert Media /Alpha Nation, Ayanfe is set to release to the public his upcoming extended playlist spearheaded by his management to reintroduce the artiste in a new light.
The anticipated body of work entitled, Sometimes Sweet, Sometimes Sour consists of four tracks, which have been greatly influenced by his personal and love life. The EP, according to the artiste, showcases his vocal range with songs that are not only soulful but deliver experience that sweetly bounce off the rich instrumentals.
