The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, is collaborating with the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) to raise intellectuals for national development.

Director-General of NIPSS, Prof. Ayo Omotayo, made this known when he led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of NLTF, Dr. Bello Maigari, in Abuja.

He said the need to strengthen working relationships in areas of education and intellectual development was pertinent to building a better society.

Noting that Nigeria has a lot of smart and intellectual people, who are currently idle, he said moving the country to greater heights was creating a job that needed collective efforts and responsibilities.

The NLTF boss, in his response, disclosed that the fund has received close to 30 requests from universities and other higher institutions of learning, in need of educational intervention.

He said such requests stemmed from the fact that many of the institutions lacked social amenities and conducive learning environment.

He assured his guest of a collaborative effort and support that would concretise learning and research, as well as achieve its mandate of impacting knowledge, developing intellectuals’ capacity for the promotion of a peaceful environment and co-existence among Nigerians.
